New gas pipeline to Poland from Norway.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Stoltenberg and his Polish counterpart, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, during Stoltenberg's visit to Poland Friday and Saturday.
Poland is determined to secure its energy supplies by purchasing gas from sources other than Russian.

- We have reached agreement on how to finance a pipeline from Norway to Poland, Stolteberg said.

The Norwegian Prime Minister said they had also agreed on Polish companies' participation in the project.

During his visit to Poland, Stoltenberg also visited the German prisoner-of-war camp at Ostrezeszow, where Stoltenberg's grandfather, who was an officer, had been held prisoner from December 1943 till January 1945. Then the Germans forced him and the other prisoners to walk the nearly 400 km westward to Luckenwalde near Berlin, where he was held until the war ended.
